Stressed

Tired of feeling tired? Worried about world events? Stress stealing your sleep?

Is it time to press the re-set button on your life?

Hypnotherapy can help you restore your wellbeing.

Anyone who has anxiety and stress will tell you, it’s bloody exhausting.

Waking up every day feeling like the sky is going to fall in or you’re going to have a panic attack is horrendous. Bedtime can bring its own nightmare of mind gremlins who will not  ‘shut up’ long enough to just get some sleep…lying awake wondering if there will be any sleep at all?

The impact of stress, anxiety and resulting fatigue can have a significant impact on quality of life and make going to work much harder. According to a recent study by Office of National Statistics UK , 17.5 million workdays are lost each year due to mental health problems in the UK.* Those who did report their symptoms to a GP described feeling nervous, restless, and tense. Other symptoms included a sense of impending danger, panic or doom, increased heart rate, fatigue and trouble concentrating or overthinking. Certainly, many GP surgeries now have longer and longer waiting lists for people who could benefit from therapeutic support to reduce stress.

Recently, I reached out to people who follow my Facebook page Julie Phillips Therapeutic Coaching – I asked what they felt caused stress, replies varied

‘…in the  past four years the news seems to be more depressing, one crisis after another’ …

‘life in general has become stressful, financial pressures, house prices and the cost of living is just rocketing’

‘ I thought life would get easier as I got older, I thought I would naturally get to a time in my life when things felt safe and secure but that just isn’t so’.

In addition, Covid worries, health anxiety, lockdowns, changing rules, and the recent situation in the Ukraine have all contributed to increased anxiety, add that to recent cost of living rises it’s a ‘perfect storm’ for further stress and worry.

So what can we do?

How can we surf the current waves of fear created by this ‘storm’ without drowning in overwhelm and protect our health and wellbeing?

In my experience as a therapist,  humans often create their own type of therapy, whether it’s avoiding the thing that causes us pain (turn off the news!) or whether it’s switching off mentally from the outside world. The fact is, we have a choice; a personal decision to make about how much we absorb about the current terrors swirling around our lives and we can all do small things to protect our energy.

Classes. Courses. Workshops

Before Covid, I was able to run small workshops which I loved. Being present physically in a room with other people and their energy was amazing – I have added a link below to a short video that was made of my workshops. I am pleased to be able to finally announce new dates for classes, courses and workshops to help with  a range of issues from poor sleep, anxiety, stress, smoking cessation, IBS and pain reduction.

An important part of my work is teaching my clients how to reduce negative thinking and give them practical strategies for changing their own thoughts patterns and behaviours. When my clients learn the power of self-hypnosis they can apply these skills to reduce anxiety and raise confidence for life! Now THAT is a personal investment.
